PUNE: At a time when intensive care units meant for critically ill babies in public healthcare facilities are resource-strapped and overburdened, the Pune Municipal Corporation's second intensive care unit for critically ill babies recently set up at Sonawane Hospital in Bhavani Peth has been lying idle for over a month, as it awaits a formal inauguration by the chief minister and deputy chief minister. Sonawane Hospital is a maternity facility with a bed strength of 86.
