A High Court judge has described mental health services in Co Roscommon as being in "a crisis situation". The remarks were made by Mr Justice Tony O'Connor in his judgment dismissing senior HSE executive Helen Earley's action aimed at preventing her employer from temporarily transferring her to an alleged lesser role. While she was never the subject of any investigation or disciplinary process the HSE said Ms Earley was to be temporarily re-assigned while a review into allegations of sexual abuse and an alleged cover up at mental health facilities run by the HSE in Roscommon was being conducted.
